WordPress 2.9 Contributors

WordPress 2.9 has just crossed 3 million downloads, and had 140+ contributors to its code base for that release cycle. I have the unique distinction of being the person responsible for removing the word 'janky' from the UI for this release. Infosec posted an article naming all of the contributors to WordPress 2.9 they could track down.

Promoted to Core Developer of the K2 Theme

I got a nice note this week from the K2 Theme project founder, Michael Heilemann, thanking me for my many contributions. I've had commit access to the repository for a while, but I've recently stepped up involvement to help push the platform forward, as well as being one of the primary voices of support on the mailing list, but now my name has been added to the list of K2 developers. I'm honored to be among such good company.

As a way of showing our gratitude for the years of support the community has shown K2, we've been hard at work on the official 1.0 version, which will have full support for WordPress 2.9.

If you haven't checked out this very capable WordPress theme framework, I recommend you download it today.
